Walk the trail downstream at Canal Park and you can see the heron rookery. It is best viewed before the trees get leaves.If you have an itch to go into Mill Park on the other side of the river you can enjoy the poison ivy and the thorns from the wild rose bushes. You will also get wet and cold swimming across the river.
